Obituary for Barbara Zelenika
February 15, 1931 – June 24, 2017
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Barica Zelenika was born in Luka, Croatia on February 15, 1931 and passed away in Vancouver, at home, June 24, 2017. Barica was predeceased by her husband Ivan Zelenika in 2012. Barica is survived by her two sons Brian (Margarita) and Gordon (Fran), her grandchildren Mark, Kristina, Nicole, Katherine and great grandchildren Marina and Cassidy. Our Mother’s passion was for her family and her Croatian Heritage. Barica lived to see her dream fulfilled with an Independent Croatia. Our sincerest thanks to Dr. Nicola James for the caring and compassion she showed our Mother. Funeral Mass and Prayers will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish, Vancouver. Entombment will follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church. Baba (Grandmother), you will forever remain in our memories and hearts. We love you so very much and miss you more than words can express.
